AFEA Best Paper Award
The African Finance and Economic Association Best Paper Award is an annual award instituted to recognize excellence and awarded to the author(s) of the paper judged by peer scholars as the best paper presented at the AFEA Sessions at ASSA Annual Meetings. The inaugural award will be presented at the January 2018 ASSA Meetings in Philadelphia.
All papers submitted and selected for presentation at AFEA sessions are eligible for the Award. Papers are subjected to review process by an Award committee, and finalist are determined by composite review comments in terms of importance and originality of contribution, appropriateness in methodology as well as clarity of presentation.
Recipient(s) is given an award plague at the AFEA/AFDB Joint Luncheon and Keynote Address hosted by AFEA/AFDB during the ASSA Annual Meetings.
The Student Prize for the best paper by a Master or Doctoral Student
The AFEA Student Prize is to recognize excellence and hard work by students who present their works in AFEA Sessions. The inaugural award will be presented at the January 2018 ASSA Meetings in Philadelphia. Each year, a Student Paper Prize Committee will use similar criteria to that of the Kwabena Gyimah-Brempong Award to select a paper by the Masters or Doctoral Student judged as the best in the award year.
Recipient(s) is given an award plague at the AFEA/AFDB Joint Luncheon and Keynote Address hosted by AFEA/AFDB during the ASSA Annual Meetings, and one year free AFEA membership subscription.
